Electronic Palliative Care Coordination Systems (or EPaCCS) have been in use across England since the need was highlighted in the 2008 End of Life Care Strategy.
In NHS IQ’s film “Why EPaCCS” (hosted here on youtube by Blackpool Teaching Hospitals), we see a cross section of clinicians, patients and carers talk about the need for electronic information sharing and this difference it can make to Palliative care patients and their families. There is also an appearance from our own Sean Leathen in his role as Project Manager for NHS Bolton CCG.
Sean has directly worked on EPaCCS projects in 15 CCGs, in Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Greater Manchester.
